Syllabus

Textbook

Our textbook is “Introduction to Probability for Data Science” by Dr. Stanley Chan.

Schedule

Oh My Question!

Oh My Question! is a new experiential learning we (Prof Stanley Chan and his teaching team) design and implement for Spring 2024. In “Oh My Question!” you create problems, prepare solutions, and present your answers to your peers. The motivation is to improve the learning of students (i.e., you!!) by encouraging you to think about probability and random processes in daily life. Our goal is to fight against comments such as “this class is boring”. More details are available here.

The written questions are due Friday at 11:59pm on Feb 9th and March 29th. The oral due date is before those dates, and a specific time is yet to be determined.
